Welcome to Connected Living
Shasta Senior Nutrition Program merged into Golden Umbrella in July 2017 to become Dignity Health Connected Living, a private non-profit agency, a subsidiary of Mercy Medical Center, and Dignity Health member. Animated by a spirit of compassion, caring and collaboration we provide nutritious meals, adult day care programs, case-management, social services, health-related services, in-home support services, financial management and assistance, transportation and supportive services to promote and enhance the physical, social and spiritual health of seniors and under-served families.
History of Golden Umbrella
Golden Umbrella began serving seniors in 1968 and was developed from a Project Find Grant to seek out isolated, needy, and disabled seniors in Shasta County and implement action to help them. A Multi-Purpose Senior Center where seniors could come together to fulfill many of their social, physical, and intellectual needs had its Grand Opening on May 17, 1970.
History of SSNP
SSNP was formed in 1979 to assist seniors in preserving their independence by providing opportunities to receive meals and transporation services, and take part in activities to enhance their dignity and encourage their continued involvement in the community.
